Old Testament Genocide and Divine Justice: What Are We To Think?

In light of current headlines about religious violence, what are we to think about the Old Testament warfare passages? In this special presentation and Q&A, Dr. Paul Copan  helps us to identify several crucial implications of some of these difficult passages of Scripture and leads us to understand how the violent commands of the Old Testament God can be reconciled with the New Testament’s ethic of love as taught by Jesus.

Dr. Paul Copan Professor of Philosophy and Ethics at Palm Beach Atlantic University, has authored numerous books including Is God a Moral Monster? Making Sense of the Old Testament God; Did God Really Command Genocide? Scripture, Ethics, and Israelite Warfare (with Matthew Flannagan); and When God Goes to Starbucks: A Guide to Everyday Apologetics.

Date: This event was held on April 25, 2015 at Perimeter Church in Atlanta, GA.
