Discipleship in the Gospel of Matthew - Part Two

Discipleship is a part of our following of Jesus, who modeled a life of teaching, caring for others, calling to repentance, and all the other amazing things He did. In our lives, our walk with God involves us emulating Christ in these regards, but at times that can seem like an overwhelming task. In this first of two audio lectures, Drew Trotter shares about how the Gospel of Matthew provides a picture of how Jesus led His disciples, and what that means for us today.

Drew Trotter

Professor

Drew Trotter served as Executive Director of the Consortium of Christian Study Centers from 2009 to 2020, and as Senior Scholar from 2021 to 2023. In his previous position, Drew was the Executive Director of the Center for Christian Study in Charlottesville, VA for 22 years. He has taught biblical, theological, and cultural studies at the seminary level for more than fifteen years, and earned his Ph.D. in New Testament studies from Cambridge University. He is the regular movie essayist for the newsletter Critique and author of Interpreting the Epistle to the Hebrews. Drew has lectured and preached at seminaries, churches and colleges throughout the United States and Canada on a wide variety of topics including prayer and discipleship.
