Dr. Lyle Dorsett - Lewis in the School of Prayer - Part 2

Lyle W. Dorsett, Ph.D., was named the Billy Graham Professor of Evangelism at Beeson Divinity School in 2005, where he teaches courses in evangelism and church history. Lyle was the founding pastor of Church of the Great Shepherd in Wheaton, Illinois. He is the author of eighteen books, among them several Christian biographies, one of them about Joy Davidman (Mrs. C.S. Lewis) entitled A Love Observed and three works on C. S. Lewis: The Essential C.S. Lewis, C.S. Lewis’ Letters to Children with Margaret Mead, and his most recent, Seeking the Secret Place: The Spiritual Formation of C. S. Lewis. Lyle is married to Mary Hayes Dorsett, founder and general director of Christ for Children International in Fresnillo, Zac., Mexico. The Dorsetts have two children and four grandchildren.

In these four lectures, Dr. Dorsett presents some new light on the major elements of Lewis’s spiritual formation with emphasis on how and why he changed over the years. Relying on hundreds of unpublished letters, nearly fifty oral history interviews, and untapped evidence from Lewis’s personal library, Dr. Dorsett shows how Lewis’s own spiritual transformation became the impetus behind his important role as a spiritual director to countless souls.

The four lectures in this series are titled:
