C.S. Lewis and the Imagination

C.S. Lewis was a man who both was able to hold to the ways that the academic world worked, and the ways in which the imaginative world worked. In his writings, it is clear that both of these styles were present. In this recording, Paul Holmer reflects on this way in which Lewis was able to balance both the academic and imaginative world.

This is a Legacy Audio recording drawn from a collection of free audio resources over the last 30+ years. Specifically, this resource is from a lecture given by Paul Holmer in 1979. Though the audio quality may not be up to modern standards, this resource contains relevant truths to a believer's walk with Christ.

Paul Holmer

Professor

Paul Holmer, (1916–2004) was first a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Minnesota and then a Noah Porter Professor of Philosophical Theology at Yale Divinity School. Holmer is perhaps best known for his essays in The Grammar of Faith (1978), he still wrote original essays, some published but many unpublished, which circulated widely in typescript during his tenure at Yale. In 2005 his family donated his papers to the Yale Divinity School Library; in reviewing Holmer's papers, the editors have chosen a selection of his most seminal essays, beyond those in The Grammar of Faith, demonstrating the breadth and range of his contributions.
