He is the author of Echoes of the Exodus Narrative in the Context and Background of Galatians 5:18 (Peter Lang, 2001). Before coming to Charlottesville, Bill and his family spent two years in Ogbomosho, Nigeria, where Bill taught Biblical languages, history, and theology at the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary. Bill and his wife, Nicolien, have four children.

Dr Wilder's subject is:

"Conformed to the Image of His Son": Image, Sonship, and the Christian Hope

Lecture 1. A Biblical Perspective on the Image of God
Lecture 2. A Biblical Perspective on the Son of God

How do Christians know that "all things work together for good for those who love God?" Paul roots his answer in our hope to be "conformed to the image of his Son" (Rom 8:28-29). These two lectures will trace the OT themes of "image of God" and "son of God" to their climactic fulfillment in Christ and his church.

  • Remembering Chuck Colson
We at the C.S. Lewis Institute give thanks to God for the life of our dear friend and brother, Chuck Colson. He was a great example of wholehearted commitment to Christ and His kingdom for people around the world. And he was also great encourager of our work over the years, as a friend, advisor, and in other ways. Our prayers are with Patty and the family during this difficult time. And with them we carry on in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection. Until then, we continue, as Chuck did, to run with perseverance the race that is set before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.Read More...

"There are two equal and opposite errors into which our race can fall about the devils. One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe, and to feel an excessive and unhealthy interest in them."
