Dear Supporters of the C.S. Lewis Institute:

I would like to express my appreciation and strong support for the much needed work of the C.S. Lewis Institute. Located in Washington D.C., the Institute meets a very special and specific need: equipping lay people to become knowledgeable, effective witnesses for Christ as they grow in their personal faiths. Whether it is through the graduate school, seminars, conferences, or personal mentoring, the Institute strives to meet the spiritual needs of the individual. Personally, I have benefited enormously from the time I have spent in discipleship with Dr. Art Lindsley. His deep commitment to Christ and in-depth knowledge of God's word are, indeed, an inspiration to me.

As the head of a non-profit organization, I admire and appreciate the Institute's philosophy of strong fiscal stewardship. The staff has made every effort to provide the greatest level of service at the lowest possible cost, using existing facilities and cooperative agreements with local churches.

In addition, the Institute is honored to have the retiring Chaplain of the Senate, Dr. Richard Halverson, serving as its first chancellor. Dr. Halverson is a close friend for whom I have the utmost respect and admiration. He has made a significant impact for Christ on Capitol Hill, and I know that he will be an invaluable asset to the C.S. Lewis Institute.

The C.S. Lewis Institute focuses on "Mere Christianity," integrating head and heart, public and private, faith and life. I cannot think of a more relevant, timely message for our nation's capital. I fully believe in the important work of this organization and encourage you to support this worthwhile endeavor.

With warmest best wishes,

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Dole
