Turkey and Greece | May 3 - 17, 2025
In the Footsteps of the Apostles
We will explore the missionary journeys of the Apostle Paul, the Apostle John, and some of the major cities of the New Testament. This 15-day/14-night pilgrimage will provide participants with the opportunity for spiritual enrichment through on-site biblical backgrounds teaching, devotional reflection, worship, and Christian fellowship.
Planned Itinerary :
Breakfast and Dinner provided at hotels, except for last 2 dinners in Athens so participants can enjoy The Plaka, the old historical neighborhood of Athens. Participants will be on their own for lunch, but given recommendations.
DAY 1 Sat. May 3 Arrive Istanbul - arrival and orientation | Istanbul Eresin Topkapi Hotel
DAY 2 Sun. May 4 Visit Ancient Istanbul including St. Sophia, Istanbul Archaeological Museum, and Topkapi Palace | Istanbul Eresin Topkapi Hotel
DAY 3 Mon. May 5 Morning flight to Antalya. Visits include ancient Attalia, Perge, and Aspendos | Antalya, Ramada Plaza Hotel
Day 4 Tue. May 6 Drive from Antalya to the Lycus Valley where we will visit the Biblical sites of Paul’s letter to the churches at Colossae, Hierapolis, and Laodicea | Pamukale, Adempira Hotel
Day 5 Wed. May 7 Continue our drive West to the ancient ruins of Miletus where Paul gave his "farewll speech" to the elders of Ephesus. Transfer to Kushadasi | Kushadasi, Korumar Deluxe Hotel
Day 6 Thu. May 8 Full day exploration of ancient Ephesus, the burial place of the apostle John, and surrounding region | Kushadasi, Korumar Deluxe Hotel
Day 7 Fri. May 9 From Ephesus we will continue north to ancient Pergamum for a visit to this important 1st century site. We continue our drive to visit the ancient ruins of Assos from which Paul sailed on his 3rd journey on his way to Jerusalem | Assos (Harbor), Kervansary Hotel
Day 8 Sat. May 10 Paul traveled on his 2nd and 3rd Journey between Asia to Europe using the harbor located at Alexander Troas. Visits include Alexander Troas continuing to Istanbul | Istanbul Eresin Topkapi Hotel
Day 9 Sun. May 11 Afternoon transfer flight from Istanbul to Thessaloniki | Holiday Inn Hotel
Day 10 Mon. May 12 Drive to the ancient site of Philippi (Letter to the Philippians) and nearby stream where Paul met with Lydia. Return to Thessaloniki to visit the 1st century agora at Thessaloniki | Holiday Inn Hotel
Day 11 Tue. May 13 Morning visit of Thessaloniki, the ancient capital of Macedonia (Act 17:1) where we will see the Rotunda, Triumphal Arch of Galerius, the White Tower, and the ancient Agora where Paul met with the believers in Thessaloniki. Continue on to Kalambaka where we will overview the unique hanging Byzantine monasteries from the Medieval centuries | Nafsika Palace Hotel
Day 12 Wed. May 14 Early morning drive to Delphi considered by ancient Greeks to be the “navel” of the earth and home to the oracle of Delphi. Continue to Athens | Herodion Hotel – Athens
Day 13 Thu. May 15 Full day study of Paul’s stay in Athens (Acts 18) including the Parthenon, Mars Hill, Greek and Roman Forum, and Athens National Archaeological Museum | Herodion Hotel – Athens
Day 14 Fri. May 16 Full day visit to Corinth, Cenchrea and the surrounding region as we discuss Paul’s two letters to the Corinthian church | Herodion Hotel - Athens
Day 15 Sat. May 17 Depart Athens to home or your next destination!
