The Eagle & Child Society: A Fellowship of Thoughtful Conversation
Conversation. Community. Ideas worth examination.
Inspired by the legendary gatherings of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and the rest of the Inklings at Oxford’s Eagle & Child pub, the Eagle & Child Society (E&CS) brings that same spirit of lively, thoughtful conversation to Chicago.
We meet monthly—usually (but not always) on the second Friday at 7pm—at the Galway Arms in Lincoln Park to explore a provocative topic or question over good food, drink, and fellowship. Our aim is to create a space where everyone and anyone is welcome to join the dialogue, share ideas, ask hard questions, and enjoy authentic community.
Whether you're deeply thoughtful or just deeply curious, E&CS is for people who want to think well and live wisely—together.
No registration required. Just show up.
(But we recommend joining the mailing list to stay in the loop about topics, schedule changes, or cancellations.)
Join the conversation.
Come as you are. Bring a friend. Join the conversation.
