In the Footsteps of the Apostles
We will explore the missionary journeys of the Apostle Paul, the Apostle John, and some of the major cities of the New Testament. This 15-day/14-night pilgrimage will provide participants with the opportunity for spiritual enrichment through on-site biblical backgrounds teaching, devotional reflection, worship, and Christian fellowship.
PLANNED ITINERARY
Sat. Sep 12: Arrive Antalya - Dinner and Overnight – Antalya, Ramada Plaza Hotel
Sun. Sep 13: Antalya - Visits include ancient Attalia, Perge, and Aspendos. Dinner and Overnight – Antalya, Ramada Plaza Hotel
Mon. Sep 14: Drive from Antalya to the Lycus Valley, where we will visit the Biblical sites of Paul’s letter to the churches at Colossae, Hierapolis, and Laodicea. Dinner and Overnight Pamukkale/Denizli, Hierapark Hotel
Tue. Sep 15: Continue our drive West to the ancient ruins of Miletus where Paul gave his "farewell speech" to the elders of Ephesus. Transfer to Kushadasi - Dinner and Overnight – Kushadasi, Korumar Deluxe Hotel
Wed. Sep 16: Full day exploration of ancient Ephesus, the burial place of the apostle John, and the surrounding region. Dinner and Overnight – Kushadasi, Korumar Deluxe Hotel
Thu. Sep 17: Our journey takes us to the ancient ruins of Miletus where Paul gave his "farewell speech" to the elders of Ephesus. Return to Kushadasi for free afternoon - Dinner and Overnight – Kushadasi, Korumar Deluxe Hotel
Fri. Sep 18: From Ephesus we will continue north to ancient Pergamum for a visit to this important 1st century site. We continue our drive to visit the ancient ruins of Assos from which Paul sailed on his 3rd journey on his way to Jerusalem. Dinner and Overnight – Assos (Harbor), Kervansary Hotel
Sat. Sep 19: Paul traveled on his 2nd and 3rd Journey between Asia to Europe by way of Alexander Troas. Visits include the ancient Roman road Paul used to walk from Alexander Troas to Assos and the site of Alexander Troas. Afternoon travels to Istanbul. Sun Sep 20: Visit Ancient Istanbul including St. Sophia, Istanbul Archaeological Museum, Topkapi Palace, Hypodrome. (Dinner not included) - Overnight – Istanbul Eresin Topkapi Hotel
Mon Sep 21: Chora Church, boat ride on the Bosporus and Spice Bazaar. Late afternoon transfer to IST International airport for evening flight to Thessaloniki, Greece (SKG). Bus transfer to hotel. Dinner and Overnight – Holiday Inn Hotel, Thessaloniki **flight from Turkey to Greece, overnight in Greece**
Tue Sep 22: Todays study will take us to the harbor of Neapolis (Kavala), then to ancient Philippi (Letter to the Philippians) and nearby stream where Paul met with Lydia. Return to Thessaloniki to visit the 1st century agora at Thessaloniki (Letter to the Thessalonians)- Dinner and Overnight – Holiday Inn Hotel, Thessaloniki
Wed. Sep 23: Full day drive from to Thessaloniki via Mt Olympus to Athens - Late afternoon visit to Mars Hill - (Dinner not included) - Overnight – Herodion Hotel
Thu. Sep 24: Full day study of Paul’s stay in Athens (Acts18) including the Parthenon, Mars Hill, Greek and Roman Forum, and Athens National Archaeological Museum. (Dinner not included) - Overnight – Herodion Hotel
Fri. Sep 25: Full day visit to Corinth, Cenchrea and the surrounding region as we discuss Paul’s two letters to the Corinthian church. (Dinner not included) - Overnight – Herodion Hotel
Sat. Sep 26: Return flight to your home or your next destination. Study program concludes.
