Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, biotechnology, and digital platforms are rapidly reshaping how people live, work, communicate, and think.

As these innovations continue to influence culture and daily life, Christians are increasingly challenged to consider what faithful discipleship looks like in a technology-driven world. Discipleship and Emerging Technologies is a webinar exploring the intersection of faith, technology, and spiritual formation.

The session will examine both the opportunities and challenges presented by technological advancement, helping believers think critically, live intentionally, and remain grounded in biblical truth amid rapid change. Participants will engage practical discussions on how technology shapes identity, relationships, ethics, ministry, and personal devotion while considering how discipleship can remain relational, intentional, and Christ-centered.

Objectives: Examine technology’s impact on culture and Christian practice Develop a biblical framework for engaging technology wisely. Equip believers for faithful discipleship in a digital age.

Gathuku Kibunga is the Executive Secretary of Africa Speaks (africaspeaks.global), a network of Christian publishing professionals serving the church across Africa.
He serves on the global leadership team as a Catalyst of the Media Engagement Network within Lausanne Movement. Gathuku is the co-founder at www.timazi.org , a ministry with a special focus on publishing biblical discipleship resources for African youth. Their flagship publication Timazi magazine  equips educators, youth pastors, and parents of teenagers to engage culture He holds a Master of Ministry Leadership and is currently pursuing a D.Min at Biola University. Gathuku and his wife Maggie are based in Nairobi, Kenya, and are grateful parents to three teenagers.
