Gregory S. Athnos

Gregory S. Athnos, Professor Emeritus of North Park University, has traveled to Athens, Rome, and throughout the Middle East studying the Art of the early Christians and applying his findings to early Christian practices and the New Testament. Under the auspices of Professor Enrico Jossi (director of the Vatican Museum), Monsignor Bisconti (Vatican archeologist), and Suor Maria Francesca (Archivist of the Roman Catacombs) he has done extensive research in catacomb art and its visual expressions of faith. He is the author of five books: The Easter Jesus and the Good Friday Church; The Art of the Roman Catacombs; Silent Voices; Handel’s ‘Messiah’: A New View of its Musical & Spiritual Architecture and his self-published autobiography Eat in Harmony: A Feast of Life, the Arts, and Faith.
