The Storyline of the Bible
Many people know the individual stories of the Bible but do not understand the overarching story of the whole Bible. The 66 books of the Bible (39 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament) come together to tell the most life-giving story in existence. Yet, not knowing the “Big Picture” story of the Scriptures blocks that perception and leads to confusion. It is much like trying to figure out where the pieces of a puzzle fit without being aware of the picture of the puzzle on the top of the box. In addition, we live in a “sound bite” culture, so learning how to share the overarching core story of the Bible in a short but clear and applicable way is a useful skill to develop.
