Stories Against the Darkness
War, Friendship, and Imagination: Tolkien, Lewis, and the Fight for Civilization
In one of history’s darkest moments, Tolkien and Lewis responded not with despair but with stories shaped by Christian faith and moral courage.
In The War for Middle-earth, historian Joseph Loconte reveals how The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Mere Christianity emerged from a struggle for the soul of civilization during the Second World War.
This lecture explores how their friendship, imagination, and Christian vision helped recover truth, beauty, and hope in an age of crisis—and what their witness offers Christians navigating our own cultural moment today.
Following the lecture, guests are invited to a book signing with the author.
