Peter Toon
Theologian
Peter Toon, was an Anglican priest, theologian, and historian. He graduated from King's College, London, was ordained in the Church of England and earned a Doctor of Philosophy from Christ Church, Oxford. He served as parish priest and theology instructor in both England and America, and was in high demand as a visiting professor and guest lecturer at seminaries and universities around the world. In the last decade of his working life, he served as President and CEO of the Prayer Book Society of the USA. He published many essays and over thirty books, including God's Statesman: Life and Work of John Owen, Born Again: A Biblical and Theological Study of Regeneration and Neither Archaic nor Obsolete.

George Müller, Evangelist, 1805–1898 was a Christian evangelist and the director of the Ashley Down orphanage in Bristol, England. In the 1800's orphans had to beg for or steal food in order to survive. Müller began to pray about starting an orphan house. He dedicated his days to prayer for the needs of the orphans. During Müller's lifetime he gave away $700,000. He found seven acres at Ashley Down and over 21 years homes were built in which over 2,000 children would be cared for. In addition to caring for orphans George Müller also paid for the printing of Bibles and tracts. Müller gave away more than 250,000 Bibles and paid tuition for hundreds of children to go to school.

Charles Spurgeon, Preacher, (1834 – 1892) known by many as “The Prince of Preachers” was an English Baptist preacher at the historic Metropolitan Tabernacle in London for 38 years. He also wrote many timeless works, most notably sermons, commentaries, and devotionals. Two of his greatest works are All of Grace and Morning and Evening.

Randy Newman
Senior Fellow for Apologetics and Evangelism, CSLI
Randy Newman (1956-2024) was the Senior Fellow for Apologetics and Evangelism at the C.S. Lewis Institute. He taught at several evangelical seminaries. After serving for over 30 years with Campus Crusade for Christ, he established Connection Points, a ministry to help Christians engage people’s hearts the way Jesus did. He has written seven books, Questioning Evangelism, Corner Conversations, Bringing the Gospel Home, Engaging with Jewish People, Unlikely Converts: Improbable Stories of Faith and What They Teach Us About Evangelism, Mere Evangelism. and his most recent, Questioning Faith: Indirect Journeys of Belief through Terrains of Doubt. Randy has also written numerous articles about evangelism and other ways our lives intertwine with God’s creation. He earned his MDiv and PhD in Intercultural Studies from Trinity International University. Randy went home to be with the Lord in May 2024.

Joel Woodruff, President, C.S. Lewis Institute, has worked in higher education, “tent-making,” nonprofit administration, and pastoral ministries in Alaska, Israel, Hungary, France, and Northern Virginia. He served as Dean of Students, Chaplain, and Professor of Bible & Theology at European Bible Institute, where he helped train Europeans both for professional ministry and to be Christian leaders in the marketplace. Prior to joining the Institute, he was on the leadership team of Oakwood Services International, a nonprofit educational and humanitarian organization. He is a graduate of Wheaton College, earned his M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and has a doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. As a Parish-Pulpit Fellow, he studied Biblical Backgrounds & Archaeology in Israel for a year.
