Alistair Begg
Pastor
Alistair Begg, Pastor, has been the senior pastor of Parkside Church in Cleveland, OH since 1983. Originally from Glasgow, Scotland, he’s a graduate of The London School of Theology, and was also educated at Trent University and Westminster Seminary. In addition to Sunday services at Parkside, Alistair can be heard daily on the Truth For Life radio program. He is the author of several books including, The Hand of God, Made For His Pleasure: Ten Benchmarks of a Vital Faith, Pray Big: Learn to Pray Like an Apostle and Pathway to Freedom: How God’s Law Guides Our Lives.

J. Oswald Sanders (1902 - 1992) attended the Bible Training Institute in Auckland and joined its staff in 1926. Sanders served as an instructor and administrator at the Bible College of New Zealand. He became general director of the China Inland Mission and led the reorganization of the CIM into the Overseas Missionary Fellowship. He was instrumental in beginning many new missions projects throughout East Asia. Upon his retirement Sanders wrote prolifically, with many of his over 40 books. One of Sander's most notable works was Heresies Ancient and Modern, later published as Cults and Isms (1962).

Founded in 1976 by Dr. James Houston and James R. Hiskey, the Institute provides leading teachers who address important issues of the day from the perspective of Biblical orthodoxy, while also providing discipleship for individuals in small groups.

Robin King is an executive consultant with Public Policy Communications. He formerly served with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as Director of External Affairs at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and as Executive Director and CEO of The Aluminum Association, Inc. Prior to that, Mr. King directed public affairs and communications for the Nasdaq Stock Market and National Association of Securities Dealers, the world’s largest securities regulatory organization and second-largest stock market. He is a graduate of Sam Houston State University and Dartmouth College. Mr. King attends Fourth Presbyterian Church where he is a leader in the Bible Overview class and serves on the board for the Fourth Presbyterian School.

Thomas A. Tarrants

Thomas A. Tarrants is President Emeritus of the C.S. Lewis Institute. After serving twelve years as president and nine years as vice President, he retired from his position as Vice President for Ministry and Director, Washington Area Fellows Program, with CSLI in June 2019. He holds a Master's of Divinity Degree, as well as a Doctor of Ministry Degree in Christian Spirituality. Tom is an ordained minister in the Evangelical Church Alliance and a member of the Evangelical Theological Society. He spends his time writing, mentoring, consulting and traveling. His life story is told in Consumed by Hate, Redeemed by Love, published by Thomas Nelson Publishers.

Professor, CSLI Co-Founder, Senior Fellow for Faith and Vocation, CSLIJames M. Houston is a co-founder of the C.S. Lewis Institute.  From its beginning, Jim has served as a Senior Fellow of the Institute, lecturing at CSLI events over the past four decades. He received his Bachelor of Science and M.A. degrees from the University of Edinburgh and a D. Phil. from Oxford University.  He was a University Lecturer at Oxford from 1947 – 1971 where he taught cultural and historical geography.  While teaching at Oxford, he met C.S. Lewis and participated in a regular Bible study with him for six years. He is known as one of the “founding fathers” of Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia where he has served as the first Principal, Chancellor and Professor of Spiritual Theology.
