The Grace of God with Stuart McAlpine – We live in a culture which presses us to achieve; to do, to make, and to keep moving towards something more than where we are now. The message of grace to us through Christ tells a different story, where we are to rest in His love for us rather than strive to be achieving over anything else. Justification and Sanctification – Joel Woodruff examines the realities of both sanctification and justification in the Christian faith while also looking at the misunderstandings of both formed by other religious and cultic groups.

The Unseen World Part 1 – Dr. Thomas A. Tarrants explores the reality of the unseen spiritual world, emphasizing the influence of God, angels, demons, and spiritual warfare. He urges believers to align their worldview with scripture and rely on the Holy Spirit for transformation and victory over sin. Citing John 7:37-39 and Acts 1:8, he highlights how the Spirit empowers Christians to resist temptation and live in spiritual freedom, bearing witness to Christ.

Spiritual Warfare Part 2 – Dr. Thomas A. Tarrants emphasizes the reality of spiritual warfare, warning that satan and his demons wage relentless attacks against God’s people. Many today deny the devil’s existence, making them vulnerable to his influence. However, scripture makes clear three key points: (1) Christ has already defeated the devil, (2) believers have been given authority to resist him, and (3) at the end of time, Satan and his followers will be cast into the Lake of Fire. Dr. Tarrants urges believers to stay vigilant, resist deception, and stand firm in faith.

The Indwelling Spirit and Authority in Spiritual Conflict – Tom Tarrants explores the character of the Holy Spirit and His place in our lives as believers while also drawing attention to the application of such knowledge in the life of a believer. He also explores spiritual warfare and how it operates in the day-to-day life of a believer who is trying to follow God and resist the devil.

The Indwelling Spirit and Authority in Spiritual Conflict – Rev. Dr. Raymon Hylton shares on how God the Father ordained our salvation before the foundation of the world, God the Son purchased our salvation on the cross, and God the Holy Spirit applies our salvation in daily life.

Orientation Toward Mission & Dependent Prayer – Steve King and Steve Gruda lead a seminar about God’s plan for reaching the world and how it is worked out through individual discipleship and prayer. They also discuss powerful tools to help believers understand who they can reach with the gospel and how they can go about it.

The Community of Believers – Bill Kynes describes the function of the church in history and its many roles in the life of believers. He also stresses the importance of church membership and participation

The Community of Believers with Rev. Sam Allberry – Independence and individualism are strongly ingrained in American culture, but the Bible emphasizes interdependence and community. Neither the church, the life of Christian discipleship, nor the mission can flourish apart from an authentic community of believers. There are many obstacles to community in our day, but they must be overcome if we are to be and do all that God asks of us, and they can be overcome once we recognize the importance of community and commit ourselves to it. This lecture was delivered to the C.S. Lewis Institute Fellows of Chicago on Apr. 3, 2021.

Theological Integration and Disenculturation – Bill Kynes explores the influences of American popular culture on the faith and practice of Christians. He also provides an overview of the many ways we are to live apart from culture to follow God.

Final Destinations: Heaven and Hell – The Bible is very clear that there are two possible, final, eternal destinations for people who live on this earth: heaven or hell. Art Lindsley examines Scripture’s teaching about heaven and hell and highlights the urgency in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those who don’t know him yet. He also helps followers of Jesus find great hope in the future that awaits them in heaven.
