David B. Calhoun
Professor
David B. Calhoun, (1937-2021) was Professor Emeritus of Church History at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri.  A minister of the Presbyterian Church in America, he has taught at Covenant College, Columbia Bible College (now Columbia International University), and Jamaica Bible College (where he was also principal).  Calhoun has served with Ministries in Action in the West Indies and in Europe and as dean of the Iona Centres for Theological Study.  He was a board member (and for some years president) of Presbyterian Mission International, a mission board that assists nationals who are Covenant Seminary graduates to return to their homelands for ministry.

CSLI Co-FounderJames M. Houston (1922 – 2026) is a co-founder of the C.S. Lewis Institute. Jim served as a Senior Fellow of the Institute, lecturing at CSLI events over the past five decades. He received his Bachelor of Science and M.A. degrees from the University of Edinburgh and a D. Phil. from Oxford University. He was a University Lecturer at Oxford from 1947 – 1971 where he taught cultural and historical geography. While teaching at Oxford, he met C.S. Lewis and participated in a regular Bible study with him for six years. He is known as one of the “founding fathers” of Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia where he has served as the first Principal, Chancellor and Professor of Spiritual Theology.

Joanne Jung, Professor, is Associate Dean for Online Education and Faculty Development, and Professor in the Biblical and Theological Studies Department at Biola University. She received her MA in Bible Exposition from Talbot School of Theology and PhD from Fuller Seminary. Her interests are in biblical interpretation, spiritual formation, and Puritan theology. She has authored books including Godly Conversation; Knowing Grace: Cultivating a Lifestyle of Godliness; and Character Formation in Online Education: A Guide for Instructors, Administrators, and Accrediting Agencies.

Gregg Ten Elshof, Professor of philosophy at Biola University, received his PhD from University of Southern California. His areas of interest include metaphysics, epistemology, modern philosophy, and Confucianism. He has authored books including I Told Me So: Self-Deception and the Christian Life (winner of Christianity Today 2009 Book Award for Christian Living) and Confucius for Christians. Elshof has published articles in Midwest Studies in Philosophy, The Modern Schoolman, Grazer Philosophische Studien, The Journal of Philosophical Research, International Studies in Philosophy, Philosophia Christi, and Christian Scholar's Review.

Mona Lindeman, CPA, serves Christ in the community, growing where God has planted her. These days that garden for growth ranges from tutoring speakers of other languages in English to leading a neighborhood Bible study to joining with her husband, Jeff, in mentoring young couples preparing for marriage. Mona is a CPA and a former partner with PYA, a management consulting and accounting firm specializing in the healthcare industry.

Susan O. Ward, is a consultant, writer, and editor. She was Deputy Administrator of the Washington State Health Care Authority and Director of Quality for the Washington State Hospital Association. Previously, she worked for several consulting firms, health plans, and a policy research organization. She has served on the boards of the C. S. Lewis Institute (DC) and New Horizons Ministries (Seattle) and as an elder at her Seattle church. Susan completed the Coracle Fellowship, as well as the CSLI Fellows and Discipleship programs. She has mentored CSLI Fellows, youth ministry staff, and students in a job search program for immigrants. She received her Master of Health Services Administration from University of Michigan.

Stuart McAllister is an itinerant speaker and writer. Since becoming a Christian in his home country of Scotland in 1977, he has traveled the globe, first smuggling bibles and other Christian resources behind the Iron Curtain. Throughout almost forty-five years of ministry, he has spoken to business groups, medical professionals, and government and community leaders. He has been a frequent contributor to many publications over the years. He has contributed chapters in the books Beyond Opinion (Thomas Nelson, 2007) and Global Missiology for the 21st Century (World Evangelical Fellowship, 2000). He and his son, Cameron, have co- written a book, Faith That Lasts: A Father and Son on Cultivating Lifelong Belief , which was published in 2021.

Adonis Vidu, Teacher, earned his B.A. at Emmanuel Bible Institute, an M.Phil. at Babes-Bolyai University, and his Ph.D. from the University of Nottingham.  He came to Gordon-Conwell from his native Romania, where he previously taught at Emmanuel University and the University of Bucharest. At Gordon-Conwell, Dr. Vidu teaches a number of electives in addition to systematic theology, including Recent Theories of the Atonement, The Attributes of the Trinitarian God, Modern Theology, Theological Hermeneutics. He is also one of the conveners of the Gordon-Conwell Theology Forum, a space for robust and friendly theological exchange among students and faculty.

Bill Smith is the Director of C.S. Lewis Institute Atlanta. His desire is for others to grasp God’s perspective and experience God’s presence throughout all of life. Bill teaches and facilitates discussions in a variety of contexts including schools, churches, businesses, conference/retreat centers, coffeehouses, bookstores, and homes. His interest in the life and writings of C.S. Lewis has resulted in a book titled Conversations on the Question of God with C.S. Lewis and Sigmund Freud. Bill holds a B.S. in Biblical Studies from Toccoa Falls College and a M.Div. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
