Christopher Mitchell

Christopher Mitchell, Theologian, (1951 – 2014) was the third director of the Marion E. Wade Center from 1994 to 2013, and the first holder of the Marion E. Wade Chair of Christian Thought at Wheaton College, Wheaton, Illinois. Mitchell was also the Consulting Editor for VII: An Anglo-American Literary Review (now VII: Journal of the Marion E. Wade Center). Prior to coming to Wheaton College he served as a missionary and pastor. He has published several articles including “C.S. Lewis and Authentic Discipleship,” Knowing and Doing (C.S. Lewis Institute, Spring 2011 Issue.) Mitchell received his M.A. from Wheaton College, and a Ph.D. from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, where his concentration was Historical Theology with a focus on Jonathan Edwards.

Arthur W. Lindsley
Senior Fellow for Apologetics, CSLIArthur W. Lindsley is the Vice President of Theological Initiatives at the Institute for Faith, Works, & Economics. He has served at the C.S. Lewis Institute since 1987 both as President until 1998 and currently as Senior Fellows for Apologetics. Formerly, he was director of Educational Ministries at the Ligonier Valley Study Center, and Staff Specialist with the Coalition for Christian Outreach. He is the author of C.S. Lewis's Case for Christ, True Truth, Love: The Ultimate Apologetic, and co-author with R.C. Sproul and John Gerstner of Classical Apologetics, and has written numerous articles on theology, apologetics, C.S. Lewis, and the lives and works of many other authors and teachers. Art earned his M.Div. from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of Pittsburgh.

Earl Palmer

Earl Palmer (1931 - 2023) an American Presbyterian minister, served in pastoral ministries at University Presbyterian Church in Seattle, Union Church in Manila, First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley, and The National Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C. Palmer is known for his expositional preaching and teaching style. Palmer has written over 20 books which include, To Run the Race: Paul's Second Letter to Timothy, Trusting God: Christian Faith in a World of Uncertainty and Called to be a People of the Gospel: St. Paul’s New Testament Letter to the Ephesians. Palmer also served on the boards of Princeton Theological Seminary, New College Berkeley, Whitworth University and Regent College.

R. Scott Smith is associate professor of Ethics and Christian Apologetics at Biola University. He has a B.A. in Political Science/Public Affairs and Administration from California State University at Hayward (now Cal State East Bay), an M.A. in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics at Talbot School of Theology at Biola and earned his Ph.D. in Religion and Social Ethics. He is the author of several books including Truth and the New Kind of Christian: The Emerging Effects of Postmodernism in the Church and Virtue Ethics and Moral Knowledge: Philosophy of Language After MacIntyre and Hauerwas, Exposing the Roots of Constructivism: Nominalism and the Ontology of Knowledge as well as many articles and essays. Dr. Smith has lectured and presented numerous times on his specialty, postmodernism.

Jeremy Taylor, Chaplain, (1613-1667) served as chaplain to King Charles I, and was imprisoned at least twice by Cromwellian authorities. Holy Living was written in the year after the execution of Charles I, and later became an early influence in the life of John Wesley. The book has been published repeatedly over the years; this version’s language has been modernized for easier access by present-day readers.

SpeakerKen Boa is engaged in a ministry of relational evangelism and discipleship, teaching, writing, and speaking. He is the president of Reflections Ministries, an organization that seeks to encourage, teach, and equip people to know Christ, follow Him, become progressively conformed to His image, and reproduce His life in others. Ken is also president of Trinity House Publishers and president of Omnibus Media Ministries, a nonprofit that generates transformative media to encourage global audiences to think, live, and act as they really are in Christ. He holds a B.S. from Case Institute of Technology, a Th.M from Dallas Theological Seminary, a Ph.D from New York University, and a DPhil from the University of Oxford in England.

After completing an M.A. in Philosophy of Religion at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, she served overseas with the Network of International Christian Schools in Thailand and Germany. She completed the C.S. Lewis Institute Year One Fellows Program.

Philip Ryken, Author, is the president of Wheaton College. He also completed a Master of Divinity degree from Westminster Theological Seminary in 1992 and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in historical theology from University of Oxford in 1995. He joined Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia and became senior minister. He has written over thirty books, including: Art for God's Sake: A Call to Recover the Arts; Written in Stone: The Ten Commandments and Today's Moral Crisis; The Doctrines of Grace: Rediscovering the Evangelical Gospel with James Montgomery Boice and R. C. Sproul; and Discovering God in Stories from the Bible. Ryken has also coauthored a series of commentaries on individual books of the Bible with R. Kent Hughes.

John R.W. Stott, (1921 – 2011) is known worldwide as a preacher, evangelist and communicator of Scripture. For many years he served as Rector of All Souls Church in London, where he carried out an effective urban pastoral ministry. A leader among evangelicals in Britain, the United States and around the world, Stott was a principal framer of the landmark Lausanne Covenant (1974). His many books, including Why I Am a Christian and The Cross of Christ, have sold millions of copies around the world and in dozens of languages.
