Jerry Root
Professor, Christopher W. Mitchell Senior Fellow for C.S. Lewis StudiesJerry Root is the Christopher W. Mitchell Senior Fellow for C.S. Lewis Studies at the C.S. Lewis Institute; Emeritus Professor of Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois and a visiting Professor at Biola University. He received his Ph.D. from the Open University through the Oxford Centre for Missions Studies. Jerry has nine published books, as well as numerous articles and publications about C. S. Lewis and evangelism in other books, journals, and periodicals, as well as read numerous academic papers at various academic venues. Recently, he published, Splendour in the Dark, a book about C. S. Lewis’s narrative poem Dymer (the book also includes Lewis’s 100-page poem). Jerry has lectured on Lewis topics at 79 Universities in 19 different countries.

SpeakerKen Boa is engaged in a ministry of relational evangelism and discipleship, teaching, writing, and speaking. He is the president of Reflections Ministries, an organization that seeks to encourage, teach, and equip people to know Christ, follow Him, become progressively conformed to His image, and reproduce His life in others. Ken is also president of Trinity House Publishers and president of Omnibus Media Ministries, a nonprofit that generates transformative media to encourage global audiences to think, live, and act as they really are in Christ. He holds a B.S. from Case Institute of Technology, a Th.M from Dallas Theological Seminary, a Ph.D from New York University, and a DPhil from the University of Oxford in England.

Thomas A. Tarrants

Thomas A. Tarrants is President Emeritus of the C.S. Lewis Institute. After serving twelve years as president and nine years as vice President, he retired from his position as Vice President for Ministry and Director, Washington Area Fellows Program, with CSLI in June 2019. He holds a Master's of Divinity Degree, as well as a Doctor of Ministry Degree in Christian Spirituality. Tom is an ordained minister in the Evangelical Church Alliance and a member of the Evangelical Theological Society. He spends his time writing, mentoring, consulting and traveling. His life story is told in Consumed by Hate, Redeemed by Love, published by Thomas Nelson Publishers.

Tom Schwanda
Professor, Senior Fellow for Christian Spirituality, CSLITom Schwanda is associate professor of Christian Formation and Ministry emeritus at Wheaton College and adjunct associate professor of Christian Spirituality at Fuller Theological Seminary. Tom earned a Ph.D. from Durham University, a D.Min. from Fuller, and a M. Div. from New Brunswick Theological Seminary. He also studied at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He is the author of numerous articles and book chapters and three books, including The Emergence of Evangelical Spirituality: The Age of Edwards, Newton, and Whitefield and is currently preparing a book on George Whitefield, a biography that will highlight the importance of Puritans in his ministry.

Michael Ward is a member of the Faculty of Theology and Religion at the University of Oxford and Professor of Apologetics at Houston Baptist University. He studied English at the University of Oxford, theology at the University of Cambridge, and he earned his PhD in Divinity at the University of St. Andrews. He is the author and editor of multiple books, most notably the award-winning Planet Narnia: The Seven Heavens in the Imagination of C.S. Lewis, After Humanity: A Guide to C.S. Lewis’s The Abolition of Man and The Cambridge Companion to C.S. Lewis. On the fiftieth anniversary of Lewis’s death, Dr. Ward unveiled a permanent national memorial to Lewis in Poets’ Corner, Westminster Abbey, London.

Arthur W. Lindsley

Arthur W. Lindsley is the Vice President of Theological Initiatives at the Institute for Faith, Works, & Economics. He has served at the C.S. Lewis Institute since 1987 both as President until 1998 and currently as Senior Fellows for Apologetics. Formerly, he was director of Educational Ministries at the Ligonier Valley Study Center, and Staff Specialist with the Coalition for Christian Outreach. He is the author of C.S. Lewis's Case for Christ, True Truth, Love: The Ultimate Apologetic, and co-author with R.C. Sproul and John Gerstner of Classical Apologetics, and has written numerous articles on theology, apologetics, C.S. Lewis, and the lives and works of many other authors and teachers. Art earned his M.Div. from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of Pittsburgh.

Joyce Koo Dalrymple

Joyce Koo Dalrymple is a pastor, speaker, and podcast host. She leads Refuge for Strength, a women’s ministry focused on spiritual formation and listening to God in community. She is on the teaching team for Church360, a collection of house churches in the Wheaton area. A former television journalist and attorney, she frequently guest preaches at local churches and speaks at women’s events and retreats. Joyce received a BA from Stanford University, a JD from Boston College, and an MDiv from Metro Atlanta Seminary. She and her husband, Tim, have three daughters and live in Wheaton, IL..

Eric C. Redmond
Professor, Teaching Fellow CSLI ChicagoEric C. Redmond is a Teaching Fellow for C.S. Lewis Institute Chicago, the Executive Director of the Moody Theological Seminary for Compelling Biblical Preaching in Chicago, and Associate Pastor of Preaching, Teaching, and Care at Calvary Memorial Church in Oak Park. He has a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Capital Seminary and Graduate School and a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary. Most recently, he is the general editor of Say It! Celebrating Expository Preaching in the African American Tradition which the Preaching Magazine calls the 2020 Book of the Year. Dr. Redmond is also a fellow of the St. Augustine Cohort for the Center for Pastor Theologians. He and his wife, Pamela (a Chicago C.S. Lewis Fellow and mentor) enjoy leading small groups and serving young adults.

Jeff Schlenz

Pastor

Jeff Schlenz, is the pastor of The City Gates Church in Northern Virginia and has been in vocational ministry for twenty years serving as a missions pastor, assistant pastor, and senior pastor. He served for eight years on active duty in the United States Marine Corps and currently serves as a chaplain in the United States Air Force Reserve. He holds a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary where his doctoral thesis examined the role faith played for POWs and hostages during cross-cultural captivity.
