A Journey through Proverbs
Pastor Jesse explores the theme of humility in his lecture by examining both a New Testament example and wisdom from Proverbs. He begins with John 3, highlighting John the Baptist’s response to Jesus’ growing influence, emphasizing the statement, “He must increase, but I must decrease” as a model of true humility. Pastor Jesse explains that humility means recognizing that God gives all we have and that our role is to point to Christ rather than elevate ourselves. He then turns to Proverbs, discussing how humility is lived out practically and warning against the dangers of pride. Using relatable analogies, he illustrates how humility is foundational to Christian character, discipleship, and ministry, ultimately calling believers to reflect Christ’s self-giving nature.
