Randy Newman
Senior Fellow for Apologetics and Evangelism, CSLI
Randy Newman (1956-2024) was the Senior Fellow for Apologetics and Evangelism at the C.S. Lewis Institute. He taught at several evangelical seminaries. After serving for over 30 years with Campus Crusade for Christ, he established Connection Points, a ministry to help Christians engage people’s hearts the way Jesus did. He has written seven books, Questioning Evangelism, Corner Conversations, Bringing the Gospel Home, Engaging with Jewish People, Unlikely Converts: Improbable Stories of Faith and What They Teach Us About Evangelism, Mere Evangelism. and his most recent, Questioning Faith: Indirect Journeys of Belief through Terrains of Doubt. Randy has also written numerous articles about evangelism and other ways our lives intertwine with God’s creation. He earned his MDiv and PhD in Intercultural Studies from Trinity International University. Randy went home to be with the Lord in May 2024.

Pastor, Senior Fellow for Pastoral Theology, CSLIPastor William L. "Bill" Kynes is the Senior Fellow for Pastoral Theology at the C.S. Lewis Institute, and retired Senior Pastor of Cornerstone, an Evangelical Free Church, in Annandale, VA, where he served from 1986 - 2022. He was an undergraduate at the University of Florida with a major in philosophy. There he also played quarterback and was later inducted into the university’s Athletic Hall of Fame. He attended Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar, receiving an MA in theology. He received an MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, before returning to England for a PhD in New Testament from Cambridge University. From 1997-1999, he served as an adjunct professor in New Testament for the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School Washington, DC, Extension Program.

Thomas A. Tarrants

Thomas A. Tarrants is President Emeritus of the C.S. Lewis Institute. After serving twelve years as president and nine years as vice President, he retired from his position as Vice President for Ministry and Director, Washington Area Fellows Program, with CSLI in June 2019. He holds a Master's of Divinity Degree, as well as a Doctor of Ministry Degree in Christian Spirituality. Tom is an ordained minister in the Evangelical Church Alliance and a member of the Evangelical Theological Society. He spends his time writing, mentoring, consulting and traveling. His life story is told in Consumed by Hate, Redeemed by Love, published by Thomas Nelson Publishers.

Lou Whitworth, Author, (August 9, 1940 – November 7, 2021) was the former senior editor at Probe Ministries. He is a graduate of Northeast Louisiana University (B.A., Sociology and English, and M.A., English) and Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M., Pastoral Theology). Prior to joining Probe, Lou taught English literature and composition at the college level and served with Campus Crusade for Christ in the Military Ministry as well as the Singles Ministry. He is the author of the Probe booklet, and Literature Under the Microscope: A Christian Look at Reading.

Arthur W. Lindsley

Arthur W. Lindsley is the Vice President of Theological Initiatives at the Institute for Faith, Works, & Economics. He has served at the C.S. Lewis Institute since 1987 both as President until 1998 and currently as Senior Fellows for Apologetics. Formerly, he was director of Educational Ministries at the Ligonier Valley Study Center, and Staff Specialist with the Coalition for Christian Outreach. He is the author of C.S. Lewis's Case for Christ, True Truth, Love: The Ultimate Apologetic, and co-author with R.C. Sproul and John Gerstner of Classical Apologetics, and has written numerous articles on theology, apologetics, C.S. Lewis, and the lives and works of many other authors and teachers. Art earned his M.Div. from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of Pittsburgh.

Paul Thigpen is the editor of TAN Books and was appointed as a lay representative on the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ National Advisory Council, speaking frequently at conferences and scholarly gatherings in the U.S and abroad. He earned a B.A. in Religious Studies from Yale University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Historical Theology from Emory University. A best-selling author, Dr. Thigpen has published forty-two books, including Manual for Spiritual Warfare and Saints Who Battled Satan: Seventeen Holy Warriors Who Can Teach You How to Fight the Good Fight and Vanquish Your Ancient Enemy, and more than five hundred articles for both scholarly and popular audiences. His work has been translated into twelve languages.

David L. Goetz, Author, is a former editor for Leadership Journal, the leading periodical for pastors, and a former pastor. He writes for Christianity Today and was the general editor of The Pastor's Soul series, which was nominated for the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association's Gold Medallion Book Award in 2000. He is president of CZ Marketing, a brand and strategy firm serving the nonprofit sector. In addition to founding CZ, he has created three podcasts, including co-founding Journey Sixty6, an online learning and coaching community for writers. David is the author and co-author of several books including Death by Suburb, Leadership Devotions: Cultivating a Leader's Heart, and Deepening Your Conversation with God: The Life-Changing Power of Prayer.

ProfessorLouis A. Markos, is a Professor of English and Scholar in Residence at Houston Baptist University. He holds a BA in English and History from Colgate University and an MA and PhD in English from the University of Michigan. Markos is the author of many books including, C. S. Lewis: An Apologist for Education, From Achilles to Christ: Why Christians Should Read the Pagan Classics, and Lewis Agonistes: How C. S. Lewis can Train us to Wrestle with the Modern and Postmodern World, and his latest work C.S. Lewis For Beginners. He is the author of two lecture series with the Teaching Company/Great Courses: The Life and Writings of C. S. Lewis and Plato to Postmodernism.

J.I. Packer
J.I. Packer, Author, (1926 – 2020), known for his best-selling book, Knowing God, as well as his work as an editor for the English Standard Version of the Bible. He was a signer on the 1978 Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy, a member on the advisory board of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood, and also was involved in the ecumenical book Evangelicals and Catholics Together in 1994. His last teaching position was as the board of governors' Professor of Theology at Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia. He was awarded the St. Cuthbert's Cross at the Provincial Assembly of ACNA on 27 June 2014 for his "unparalleled contribution to Anglican and global Christianity."

Thomas C. Parker, Professor, served as the Director of Fuller Theological Seminary Arizona from 1988 to 2018, where he taught classes in Biblical Interpretation, Old Testament, Biblical Hebrew, and Biblical Greek. He was an ordained Presbyterian pastor and earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Arizona, a Master of Philosophy from the University of Sheffield, England and a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary.
