Tremper Longman
Professor and Theologian
Tremper Longman III, Professor and Theologian, is the Distinguished Scholar of Biblical Studies at Westmont College, visiting professor of Old Testament at Seattle School of Theology and Psychology and adjunct of Old Testament at Fuller Theological Seminary. He earned a Master of Divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary and completed a doctorate in ancient Near Eastern studies at Yale University. He has authored over thirty books including interdisciplinary works and textbooks. Titles include Science, Creation and the Bible: Reconciling Rival Theories of Origins; How to Read Genesis; Intimate Allies; How to Read the Psalms; How to Read Proverbs and Literary Approaches to Biblical Interpretation. He is one of the main translators of the New Living Translation and has consulted on other translations.

Jerry Bridges, (1929 – 2016) was an evangelical Christian author, speaker and staff member of The Navigators. He earned his undergraduate degree in engineering at the University of Oklahoma before serving as an officer in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He joined Christian discipleship organization The Navigators in 1955 where he eventually served as Vice President for Corporate Affairs. He was the author of more than a dozen books, including The Pursuit of Holiness, an award-winning works, Holiness Day by Day and The Discipline of Grace. He also enjoyed a robust international speaking ministry. He is remembered by the Navigators as “beloved evangelical statesman” and “a kind, gentle soul who desired nothing more than to walk humbly with his God.”

Hannah W. Smith, Author, (1832-1911) an American evangelist and reformer, a public speaker and writer in the Holiness movement of the late 19th century and the Higher Life movement in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. She was also active in the Women's suffrage movement and the Temperance movement. Hannah published The Christian’s Secret of a Happy Life, Every-day Religion; or The Common-sense Teaching of the Bible and The Unselfishness of God and How I Discovered It: A Spiritual Autobiography, as well as numerous pamphlets, tracts, and articles. She became a prominent advocate of college education for women. Hannah helped found the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union in 1874 and in 1883 became superintendent of its new Evangelistic Department.

Stacey received her Bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics from Westmont College and an Master’s degree in International Relations from University of Warwick. Jacques Ellul
Jacques Ellul, Professor, (1912–1994) sociologist and theologian earned his doctorate in 1936 with a thesis titled “The History and Legal Nature of the Mancipium”. Ellul taught at the Faculty of Law in Montpellier. He held national office in the Reformed Church of France until 1970. He is the author of almost a thousand articles and close to fifty books which were translated into more than twelve languages. These include The Technological Society, the first volume of his trilogy on the subject, Living Faith and Hope in Time of Abandonment. His five-volume History of Institutions has been used by generations of French university students.

Paul Borthwick, Speaker, serves on the staff of Development Associates International, a training group dedicated to the character and ministry development of leaders in the under-resourced world. He also served as an Urbana/Missions Associate with Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship from 1999-2015. He holds a D.Min. in Cross-cultural Ministry, M.Div from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and a BA in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts. Through his speaking, writing and resource ministry, Borthwick works to mobilize others to participate in world missions. Borthwick is an active speaker and teacher and is the author of Western Christians in Global Missions, How to Be a World-Class Christian, Six Dangerous Questions to Transform Your View of the World and A Mind for Missions.

Clive Staples Lewis, (1898–1963) was one of the intellectual giants of the twentieth century and arguably one of the most influential writers of his day. He was a Fellow and Tutor in English Literature at Oxford University until 1954, when he was elected to the Chair of Medieval and Renaissance Literature at Cambridge University, a position he held until his retirement. Lewis was a scholar, novelist, broadcaster, and author of dozens of books, articles and essays. His most distinguished and popular accomplishments include Mere Christianity, Out of the Silent Planet, The Great Divorce, The Screwtape Letters, and the universally acknowledged classics in The Chronicles of Narnia.

Chuck Mylander
Professor
Chuck Mylander, Professor, was an executive director of Evangelical Friends Mission. Before assuming this post, he served as superintendent of Evangelical Friends Church Southwest. Chuck earned a B.A. from George Fox University and a D. Min. from Fuller Theological Seminary. He has also served as adjunct professor for Azusa Pacific University in the Haggard School of Theology; as a trustee for George Fox University; and has taught as a guest lecturer in Bible schools in Guatemala, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Burundi. Chuck is the author of More Energy for Your Day, Running the Red Lights, Secrets for Growing Churches and coauthor of several books, which include (with Neil Anderson) Blessed Are the Peacemakers, Experiencing Christ Together, and Extreme Church Makeover.
