Warren and Ruth Myers, Authors, spent their lives teaching men and women how to experience God and discover His will. They collaborated on numerous best-selling books including 31 Days of Praise, 31 Days of Prayer (both Multnomah Press), The Perfect Love, How to Have a Quiet Time, Discovering God’s Will, both published by NavPress and The Satisfied Heart (Waterbrook Press). The Myers spent most of their adult lives ministering with The Navigators in Asia.

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, Author, [1918 – 2008] was a Russian novelist, philosopher, historian, short story writer, and political prisoner. Solzhenitsyn was an outspoken critic of communism and helped to raise global awareness of political repression in the Soviet Union, in particular the Gulag system. He studied mathematics at Rostov University, while at the same time taking correspondence courses from the Moscow Institute of Philosophy, Literature, and History. Solzhenitsyn’s other works include the novels The First Circle and Cancer Ward; his literary memoirs, The Oak and the Calf, and their addendum, The Invisible Allies; collections of plays and early works; and numerous speeches and essays, including his Nobel Lecture and his Harvard address — "A World Split Apart".

John Stumbo, Author, after spending 25 years as a pastor became the president of The Christian and Missionary Alliance church. John received his BA in Bible and theology from Crown College and his MA in missiology from Columbia (S.C.) International University. He earned a DMin in leadership and the emerging culture from George Fox Evangelical Seminary. John has written four books which include, God in You: A Conversation, In The Midst: Treasures from the Dark, An Honest Look at a Mysterious Journey, and A Stained Beauty.

Susan Maycinik Nikaido, Author, served as editor and senior editor of the Discipleship Journal for over 15 years. She has published articles in magazines such as Today’s Christian Woman, Decision, Leadership, Campus Life, New Man, and Christian History. She has worked as an editor at Purdue University, editing books and promotional materials, and at Indiana University, editing study guides for correspondence courses. She is the author of the Bible study guides Growing Deeper with God and Building Better Relationships. Susan holds a B.A. in journalism from Indiana University and an M.A. in communications from Wheaton College Graduate School. She has taught writing and editing seminars in the U.S. and internationally and has also written a manual for Magazine Training International.

Brent Curtis

Brent Curtis (1947-1998), Counselor, was a counselor in private practice and the author of the book Guilt (Institute of Biblical Counseling Discussion Guides Series) published in 1992 by Navpress. He also co-authored a book with John Eldredge, The Sacred Romance: Drawing Closer to the Heart of God. Brent loved people. He was a friend and mentor to many.

Professor and Theologian
Tremper Longman III, Professor and Theologian, is the Distinguished Scholar of Biblical Studies at Westmont College, visiting professor of Old Testament at Seattle School of Theology and Psychology and adjunct of Old Testament at Fuller Theological Seminary. He earned a Master of Divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary and completed a doctorate in ancient Near Eastern studies at Yale University. He has authored over thirty books including interdisciplinary works and textbooks. Titles include Science, Creation and the Bible: Reconciling Rival Theories of Origins; How to Read Genesis; Intimate Allies; How to Read the Psalms; How to Read Proverbs and Literary Approaches to Biblical Interpretation. He is one of the main translators of the New Living Translation and has consulted on other translations.

For 14 years he led Navigator campus and marketplace ministries, in which he worked with students, businesspeople, and missionaries, both stateside and overseas. For 12 years he served as vice president of The Navigators' US Development Ministry. He is the author of several books including Funding Your Ministry: A Field Guide for Raising Personal Support, What the Bible Actually Says About Money: 31 Meditations and Down-to-Earth Discipling: Essential Principles to Guide Your Personal Ministry (Living the Questions).

John Charles Ryle (1816 - 1900) was an evangelical Anglican clergyman and first Bishop of Liverpool. He was renowned for his powerful preaching and extensive tracts. He was educated at Eton and then Christ Church, Oxford. He offered himself for ministry in the Church of England and was duly accepted and ordained in December 1841.He wrote several well-known books, among them are Expository Thoughts on the Gospels (7 vols, 1856–69), Holiness and Practical Religion.  Ryle was described as having a commanding presence and vigorous in advocating his principles albeit with a warm disposition. He served as Bishop until his eighty-fourth year, where a general decline in health forced him to retire.
